Patna: University of Patliputra (UPP) started the online admission process for professional postgraduate (PG) courses from September 14, which will continue until September 24. The university will admit MBA students, MCAMSc in Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences, Electronics, Master in Librarianship and other approved courses offered at certain constituent colleges.
According to the Dean of Student Welfare at PPU (DSW)Prof AK Nag, the university will announce the first merit list on September 26 while the admission process will be completed by September 30. The second merit list will be announced on October 7 and the admissions process will be completed by October 11. The third and final merit list will be announced on Oct. 13 while the admissions process will be completed by Oct. 15, he said.
Also, the university has made separate arrangements for the admissions process for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) course, a favorite pursuit among students. The university will announce its first merit list on October 7 while the admission deadline will be October 12, DSW said, adding that the second merit list will be announced on October 14 and the admission deadline will be October 18.
According Professor Nag, the university will accept PG application fee and admission fee in online mode only. The fee for General, BC I and BC II students is Rs 400 each and Rs 300 each for SC/ST students, he said, adding that the eligibility criteria for admission MBA courses are 50% at the graduation level while it is 45% for reserved category students.
Similarly, for the MCA course, eligibility is at least 45% marks in the BCA course exam or 55% marks in the intermediate exams in the related subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and electronics, said the DSW.
The university has decided to start classes for all professional PG courses from October 12. In addition, the university will hold a Group Discussion (GD) test for shortlisted MBA aspirants in their respective colleges starting September 27, the DSW said.
