NUC approves 15 new courses for Tansian University

The National University Commission (NUC) has given the go-ahead for the launch of fifteen (15) new courses, six undergraduate and seven postgraduate at Tansian University, Umunya Anambra State, for the semester academic 2022/2023.

According to Bony Amalu, Public Relations Office, Tansian University, Umunya, Vice Chancellor Prof. Eugene Okoye Nwadialor announced the good news during the emergency meeting of the university senate.

He said he received the endorsement letter from the Executive Secretary of NUC Abuja, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed.

The six new undergraduate courses approved, according to the VC, are: Medical Laboratory, Radiography/Medical Imaging, and Public Health.

Other NUC-approved undergraduate courses, the VC pointed out, are International Relations/Diplomacy, Public Administration/Political Studies, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

The seven NUC-approved postgraduate courses, the VC explains, cover postgraduate degrees. (PGD) Master of Science (MSC) and Doctorate (Ph.D). He said the courses are; Accounting, business administration, philosophy and political science. Other postgraduate courses, the VC added, include microbiology, biochemistry, computer science, journalism/media studies as well as broadcasting.

A team of NUC experts visited Tansian University last September to assess the readiness of the institution for the six (6) new undergraduate courses and seven (7) postgraduate courses. Third cycle.

The VC appreciated the University Chancellor Peter Ebere Cardinal Okpalaeke the Board of Trustees, management and staff of the University for the one hundred percent (100%) registered.
