300 New Skill Courses Introduced for Tribal Students: TRI

Ganderbal, 04 November: The J&K Tribal Affairs Department has added over 300 new courses covering management, soft skills, robotics, data analytics, blockchain, artificial intelligence, aviation, coding and other miscellaneous courses, as part of the skills development training program.
This was stated by the team of officers/officials of the Tribal Research Institute (J&K Tribal Affairs Department) during a one-day awareness and training program held at the high school Ganderbal Boys’ Superior.
Speaking at the outreach camp, Javaid Ahmad Parray (Coordinator/Nodal Officer) of the Tribal Affairs Department said that the department has launched various special scholarship programs for the benefit of Scheduled Tribe (ST) students at J&K UT to pursue different degrees and courses.
He also informed that for the first time, the Department has distributed 800 Smart Tabs to different tribal students who are pursuing their studies in different educational institutions.
The TRI coordinator informed the participants that in a significant move, the Department has increased the scholarship in the Group A courses from Rs 30,000/year existing from 2011-12 to Rs 72,000/year including Rs 12,000 stipend . The scholarship for Group B courses, which had stagnated at Rs 20,000/year since 2011-2012, is now increased to Rs 53,200/year including Rs 8,200 as allowances. In Group C courses, the purse went from Rs 18,000 to Rs 41,700 and in Group D courses.
He also stated that the purpose of these awareness camps is only that more and more ST students can be educated through these types of training programs/camps to enjoy the benefits of the scholarship programs set up by the Department of tribal affairs.
The organizer of the program, Reyaz Ahmad Shah gave a brief introduction of the Department and the programs implemented by the Department.
